Following two years of successful collaboration with the World Health Organization, WCCEH are pleased to share that their art exhibition, “embodied”, is now available to view in Exeter City Centre. This follows a successful launch in the Forum at Exeter University, and simultaneously in the atrium in UN City, Copenhagen.

On display in Positive Light Projects until Saturday 30th September, the exhibition features artwork from five excellent artists who have worked in a variety of media to produce the beautiful imagery on display.

This exhibition features artwork that explores the complex relationships between behaviour, culture and health. From Covid-19, alcohol and air pollution to Parkinson’s and autopsy, the artworks open new perspectives on how cultures are embodied, and how environments get under our skin.

The Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health, together with the Behavioural and Cultural Insights Unit at the World Health Organization Regional Office for Europe, have developed this exhibition in partnership to celebrate the BCI-Hub.

The Behavioural and Cultural Insights (BCI) Hub provides a knowledge-sharing platform for evidence and good practice related to the barriers and drivers of healthy practices.  It is a collaboration between The World Health Organization (WHO) Collaborating Centre for Behavioural and Cultural Insights, hosted at the Wellcome Centre for Cultures and Environments of Health at the University of Exeter, and WHO/Europe’s Behavioural and Cultural Insights Unit.  The Collaborating Centre works with WHO to produce guidance for policymakers and to run events designed to generate new approaches to public health, informed by behavioural and cultural insights. It explores how the humanities and social sciences can be used to develop and evaluate innovative public health initiatives.
