Immunization is a key component of primary health care and an indisputable human right.

Vaccines are critical to the prevention and control of infectious disease outbreaks. Vaccination and immunization rates are impacted by a host of behavioural and cultural factors. Vaccines are only effective if the means and mechanisms are in place to ensure whole populations can be vaccinated.
